We offer the opportunity to gather with a group of friendly people and enjoy a common passion...The Art of Home brewing. We have monthly meetings, brewery and pub tours, picnics and fests. Membership is $25/year. Our regular events include:

 Each month we meet to discuss homebrew styles, techniques, recipes, activities, and equipment. More importantly, we meet to share our homemade brews. Each meeting, we have two homebrew competitions. One competition is for a Style category and the other is for an Open category. Members sample competition beers from each respective category and vote for their favorite.

 Each summer we have a member picnic. Good food, volleyball, fun and of course...beer. And we don't mean Miller Lite or Old Style beer. A select variety of microbrews and of course homebrew!!! The price? FREE to all FCB members and guests.

Each spring we take our annual pub-crawl to breweries and brewpubs within the greater Northern Illinois and Wisconsin area. The cost? Around $30 for members, slightly more for non-members, which covers most of the costs. Past destinations have included:
1998 Greys Brewing, Capital Brewing and Great Dane Brew Pub
1997 Goose Island Brewery and Brew Pub and Mickey Fins Brew Pub
1996 Sprecher Brewing, Lakefront Brewery and Brewmasters Pub

 Each August we make our annual pilgrimage to Madison for the "The Great Taste of the Midwest" festival. Our very own Jim Didier (a.k.a. Haji Haji Haji Haji) coordinates the trip. For some members, it's a religious experience.

 Each September (sometimes October), we have our own tribute to the ultimate beer festival....The Octoberfest in Munich Germany. Food, fun and of course... Octoberfest Beer. Our 1998 Octoberfest included four different homebrews donated by various members and select list of bottled Octoberfest Style beers.
