.2007 / 2008 Contest Beer Styles

Each month at our membership meeting the Forest City Brewers host a homebrew contest, with a different featured style chosen for each month. The contest is judged during a blind sampling taste test by those in attendance, and points and prizes are awarded to the winners. The monthly points are compiled and used to determine the ultra  prestigious Forest City Brewer's "Homebrewer of the Year Award".

2007-2008 Selected Styles

September - Experimental IPA

October - Oktoberfest

November - Bohemian/Czech Pils (AHA)

December - Winter Warmers/ Spiced and Holiday Ales

January - Oatmeal Stout

Febrewary - Irish Red Ale

March - "Perfect Porter" (AHA)

April - U.S. vs. U.K. IPA Throwdown!!

May - Witbier

Points are awarded for as follows:
1st 10 points
2nd 8 points
3rd 6 points
Entering without placing 3 points

Amendment: Point judging totals start at Jan. 1st and end the following year. 
For ties, points are rounded up (if needed).
