.2005 / 2006 Contest Beer Styles

Each month at our membership meeting the Forest City Brewers host a homebrew contest, with a different featured style chosen for each month. The contest is judged during a blind sampling taste test by those in attendance, and points and prizes are awarded to the winners. The monthly points are compiled and used to determine the ultra  prestigious Forest City Brewer's "Homebrewer of the Year Award".

Fall 2006 Selected Styles

September - American Stout (AHA)

October - Octoberfest

November - Kolsch (AHA)

December - Porter

January - Schwarzbier

Febrewary - Belgian Dubbel

March - Scottish Ale (AHA)

April - Hefeweizen

May - Extract IPA (AHA)

Points are awarded for as follows:
1st 10 points
2nd 8 points
3rd 6 points
Entering without placing 3 points

Amendment: Point judging totals start at Jan. 1st and end the following year. 
For ties, points are rounded up (if needed).
